Due to the threat of winter weather and hazardous road conditions, all after school activities for the Newberry County School District have been canceled for Thursday, February 20. Canceled activities include all athletic games and practices, Boys and Girls Club after school care, meetings, programs, adult education classes, and all other activities and events.
The District will also operate on a two-hour delayed schedule for Friday, February 21. Buses will run two hours later than the regular route time with schools and offices beginning two hours later than usual.

LET'S DO THE TWIST...........Our students met the 1st benchmark for our school-wide WIG. We are celebrating on Tuesday, 02/18, with a Sock Hop. Students may dress for the 50s Sock Hop.

Here is a great opportunity for our children to extend their learning from the walls of our school to a community event.
Mrs Jones, our art teacher, specifically taught our 5th graders about Dave the Potter during their clay unit.
We encourage you to take advantage of this local opportunity. This is a FREE performance at the Opera House before the SC Clay Conference begins.

Car rider pick up and student driver dismissal will also begin at 2:00. As a reminder, all afternoon activities have been cancelled.

LME's 7th Annual Geography Bee was held this morning. All contestants did an amazing job throughout the competition. We want to send a big THANK YOU to Mrs. Starnes for working so hard to make this Geography Bee happen here at our school. Our contestants were: 4th Grade students- Alexa Riddle, Antwone Ruff, and Derrick Twining. 5th Grade students- Cody Alewine, Tarence Anderson, Daniel Carter, Christopher Case, Neveah Clark, Sean Dicorte, Caleb Duncan, Ingram Epting, Bradley Fulmer, Brody Herndon, Bethany Hill, Alli Morris, Danny Preston, Madison Ray, Weston Riddle, Whitney Shannon, Gracen Shealy, Liam Steen, Landen Wicker, and Jackson Wicker.
Our second runner up was Caleb Duncan, first runner up was Tarence Anderson, and our 2019-2020 LME Geography Bee winner was Sean Dicorte.
Sean will go on to compete in the State Geography Bee.




Friday, December 20th, we will dismiss at 11:00 a.m. Don't forget tomorrow is Pajama Day. Help us kick off Christmas Break by wearing your pajamas. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
